Battery Materials Processing Grants

To provide grants for battery materials processing to ensure that the United States has a viable battery materials processing industry. Funds can also be used to expand our domestic capabilities in battery manufacturing and enhance processing capacity.

Eligible Uses

Demonstration projects, construction of commercial-scale facilities, and retrofit or retooling of existing battery material processing facilities.

Institutions of Higher Education, National Laboratories, Nonprofit and For-Profit Private Entities, State and local governments, Consortia of Entities Described in Paragraphs (1) through (4)

Period of Eligibility:
$600,000,000 appropriated annually for fiscal years 2022 through 2026 (to remain available until expended)
